Huawei Korea has stressed that its telecom equipment has received the Common Criteria (CC) Evaluation Assurance Level (EAL) 4+ certification for its 5G products.

Company CSO Lee Joon-ho, who was appointed to the post last week, said the Chinese tech giant was the “only vendor” that received the 4+ certificate for telecom equipments from 4G to 5G.

Lee stressed that Huawei strived to provide trusted security assurance by investing resources and money into following global standards.

Last month, Huawei announced that it has received the certificate from the Spain-based certification authority, Centro Criptologico National (CCN).

Equipment from the Chinese tech giant is used by LG Uplus, the country’s smallest carrier, for 5G networks in Seoul, the country’s capital.

SK Telecom and KT doesn’t use Huawei goods for their 5G networks.
