Intel has official launched its Lakefield processor that comes with its Hybrid Technology, Thursday.

The chip has five cores __ a 10-nanometre core and four low-power cores.

It will power Samsung Galaxy Book S and Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold.

The Lakefield package measures 12x12x1mm, 56% smaller than its predecessors, Intel said.

It has memory embedded in a package-on-package design that will allow board sizes to be smaller.

Lakefield has a longer battery life thanks to consuming only 2.5mW standby SoC power. It also fully Windows compatible.
