New CEO, Changjin Kang, Joins SEMES

The exiting CEO, Yongsik Kim, becomes a standing advisor to Samsung Display Production Technology Center

Kang, Chang-jin, vice president of Samsung Electronics, took over as the new and 9th CEO of Semes on the 2nd.

In 1993, he joined Samsung Electronics' Memory R&D process development team. He was the head of the process development team of the memory business division, the planning support team leader of the semiconductor research institute, and the planning department leader of the DS division.

Born in 1961, he graduated from Seoul National University with a Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering. Thereafter, he completed his master's degree and doctoral course in Materials Engineering at KAIST.

The exiting CEO, Kim Yong-sik, is said to have transitioned to the position of a standing advisor to  the Samsung Display Manufacturing Technology Center.
