LG Uplus and Autonomous a2z will collaborate in developing an autonomous driving service, the companies said.

The telco will provide its 5G network, dynamic map and real time kinematic solutions, while Autonomous a2z will provide its autonomous driving platform. Testing will be done at Sejong City, south of Seoul.

Autonomous a2z’s platform has accrued over 20,000 kilometers in travel distance and was the best in South Korea, the companies claimed.

LG Uplus’ vehicle-to-everything (V2X) solutions will provide security to the platform and lay the foundation for commercialization, the telco added.
