Samsung to supply 5G equipment to Canadian telco Telus

Samsung Electronics will be supplying its 5G network equipment to Canadia telco Telus, the South Korean tech giant said on Friday.

It is its fourth order outside of South Korea for the electronics giant __ it won one in Canada before back in December, at another in the US in February as well as one in New Zealand in March.

Samsung won its first order from Canada from local telco Videotron. 

The newest order from compatriot telco Telus will lay the groundwork for Samsung's presence as one of the primary telecom vendors in Canada, the company said in a statement.

Since 2000, Telus has invested nearly US$200 billion in wireless and fiber optic network infrastructure, Samsung also said.
