Samsung launches 8TB 870 QVO SSD

The QLC SSD has sequential read speed of 560MB/s

Samsung Electronics has launched a new quad-level cell (QLC) solid-state drive (SSD) that offers up to 8 terabyte (TB) capacity.

The 870 QVO SATA SSD comes in 1, 2, 4 and 8TB capacities. The 8TB model offers an endurance rate of 2,880TB in total bytes written, Samsung said.

The new SSD have sequential read and write seeds of 560MB/s and 530MB/s, respectively. 

It have random read and write speeds of 98K IOPS, 13% faster than its predecessor, the 860 QVO SSD, launched back in 2018.

Samsung’s software for the SSD, dubbed Magician 6, has also been upgraded to offer a more convenient interlace, the company said.

Price will range from $129.99 to $899.99, depending on capacity. Samsung will also offer a three-year warranty.
