Samsung Electronics will give 36.5billion won as incentive payments to 23,000 employees of its suppliers, the company said on Wednesday.

It is the conglomerate’s largest payment for the first half of the year to date.

It chose 297 tier 1 and tier 2 subcontractors that met its goal of productivity and safety.

The payments will be made on July 24.

Samsung has expanded the amount of incentive payments it makes to subcontractors every year since 2010. It has paid 380 billion won in the past eleven years.

The company said it will continue to expand its safety culture program to subcontractors. It will choose five companies as “face makers” and members of a regular consultation body. The selected companies will work with other subcontractors to increase safety standards.
