Silicon Mitus has launched a power management integrated circuit (PMIC) for organic light emitting diode (OLED) panels on cars.

It follows its supply of PMIC for OLED panels on mobile phones, tablets and notebooks.

The newest PMIC will be applied to virtual mirrors that combined the OLED panel with a camera. These virtual mirrors provide a wider viewing angle and has less blind spots compared to conventional mirrors, Silicon Mitus said.

German automobile giant Audi put in virtual mirrors as side mirrors for its recent launched e-tron electric SUV.

Silicon Mitus was also supplying PMICs for the central information displays on cars as well, it said.

The company will strengthen its position as a PMIC supplier for the fast growing OLED panel market for cars, it added.
