LG Display to show off new OLEDs at SID 2020

Various form factors will be displayed

LG Display will show off its organic light emitting diode (OLED) technology at the upcoming SID 2020 virtual event, the company said.

The event, hosted by the Society of Information Display, was initially slated to take place in San Francisco put will be a completely online event this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

LG Display will show off its various form factors of its OLED panels and convergence examples at the show, the South Korean display giant said.

In form factors, it will show off a 12.8-inch and 65-inch rollable OLED; 13.3-inch foldable OLED; 65-inch bendable OLED; 55-inch transparent OLED with a transparency rate of 40%. 

LG Display will also show off its 27-inch curved plastic OLED for dashboards, 12.3-inch cinematic sound OLED that was used for a digital cockpit as well as new OLED displays for augmented reality, virtual reality and 3D applications.

The company will show off a futuristic demo room decorated with OLED panels. It will also publish various academic papers related to OLED online.
