Samsung to run start-up competition 

Winners will get up to 100 million won in funding

Samsung Electronics will run a start-up competition that will provide funding and office space support for the winner, the company said on Monday. The competition will lat until September 11.

The competition is themed “Innovation for New Experience” and start-ups that are less than five years old can apply.

Winners will get office spaces at Samsung’s research campus in Seoul and get mentoring support as well. They will get opportunities to take part in global tradeshows and up to 100 million won in funding.

Some of the start-ups will also get idea recommendations from Samsung employees. They will also get support for outside funding.

Samsung Electronics said it plans to foster up to 300 start-ups until 2022. It has supported 124 start-ups in the first half of the year, including companies DoBrain and Pixel Display. It is fostering 40 start-ups such as Counter Culture Company and Dabeeo.
