Samsung, LG win energy awards for home electronics

Companies each win 8 awards in TVs, appliances

Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics has won awards for the energy efficiencies in their TVs from an award event hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, the ministry said on Monday.

The event, called Energy Winner Awards, was co-hosted by Consumers Korea, a local consumer protection NGO and a member of Consumer International.

Samsung and LG each won eight awards. Samsung won the top Prime Minister Award for its 75-inch Crystal UHD TV. The TV has a level 1 grade.

Its Grande Dryer AI and Bespoke Dishwasher also won awards. 

LG Electronics also won awards for its system air conditioners aimed at the enterprise as well as its double-sided solar panel modules.

It also won awards for Whisen Inverter Dehumidifier and Tromm Wash Tower, among other home appliances.

The Energy Winner Awards for first started in 1997.
