ECI Technology Korea, a specialist in semiconductor materials analysis equipment, is confident that it can diversify its product line and application areas and achieve sales growth of more than 30% per year.

Lee Woo-jin, CEO of ECI Technology Korea, said, "In 2021, we will achieve sales of more than KRW 40 billion in domestic corporations and increase the number of employees to 40." “We have a vision to grow into a stable company with more than KRW 1 billion in sales per employee,” he added.

ECI was founded in 1987 with its headquarters in New Jersey, USA. As of the end of last year, 225 workers are employed there. The Korean subsidiary was established in June 2014.

ECI's main piece of equipment is a chemical analyzer for semiconductor manufacturing. The company's main products are the following three: Quali-Surf, an analyzer for cleaning, Quali-Line, a semiconductor copper (Cu) plating analyzer, and Quali-Fill, a package analyzer.

Quali-Surf improves the process yield by accurately analyzing the chemical components used in the semiconductor cleaning process in real time. The Quali-line contributes to the enhancement of the plating process capability by Cu plating solution component analysis. Quali-Fill analyzes the components of the various plating solutions used in the packaging process.

Until the early 2000s, ECI was focused on material analyzers for printed circuit board (PCB) production. In the 2000s, IBM changed its aluminum wiring process to a copper damascene process, and Intel also introduced the copper process, making ECI analyzers popular. Currently, major semiconductor manufacturers such as the US and Japan buy ECI analyzers. Outsourced semiconductor package testing (OSAT) companies specializing in semiconductor packages are also major customers of ECI.

"We will provide an integrated solution that is specialized in semiconductor manufacturing processes with our specialized analysis technology," explained CEO Lee.
