KT is launching a new Wi-Fi 6 standard router aimed at the home, the company said on Wednesday.

Router maker Mercury is providing the routers.

Called GiGA WiFi Home ax, or GWH ax, the routers will go on sale on August 31 and have a data processing speed of 1.2Gbps.

KT’s previous home router had a speed of 867Mbps, the company said.

The company in November last year launched a Wi-Fi 6 router aimed at businesses with data processing speed of 2.4Gbps.

GWH ax comes with orthogonal frequency division multiple access that allows stable connection for multiple device connected to the router, KT said.

It also has Wi-Fi Protected Access 3 standard applied for better security, the company said.
