Qualcomm provides scholarship for robotics contest
Snapdragon mobile platform was provided as well
Qualcomm has provided scholarship and its Snapdragon mobile platform for the 2019-2020 Korea Robot Championship (KRC), the company said.
The event is sponsored by the US chip giant and hosted by FEST Creative Engineering Education Association.
A total of 143 teams and 1,000 students participated on the vent that was held online from July 20 to August 19 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Qualcomm provided scholarships to eleven teams __ including two comprised completely of women.
In the First Tech Challenge round, students showed off robot controllers that are based on Android and the Snapdragon mobile platform.
Robot Championship is hosted by the FIRST foundation in the US and has over 700,000 students from 103 countries participating. Korea Robot Championship is the Korean subsidiary version of the event.
Qualcomm has sponsored the Korean event for five years and the world championship for 14 years.
