Southeast Asia Q2 smartphone shipment at 24 million

Oppo has overtaken Samsung Electronics as the largest smartphone vendor in Southeast Asia in the second quarter of 2020, according to CounterPoint.

A total of 24 million smartphone was shipped in the region during the quarter, the research firm said.

Oppo had a market share of 20.3%, followed by Samsung’s 19.5% and Vivo’s 17.9%. Xiaomi ranked fourth with 14% and Realme was fifth with 12.8%.

Samsung was the leader in the first quarter, being 0.2% ahead of Oppo at the time.
