THiRA-UTECH, a smart factory company, releases MCS, an automatic return solution

THiRA-UTECH, a smart factory solution provider, unveiled a semiconductor automation reaction solution MCS (Material Control System). Applying international standards and implementing an integrated user interface that allows the user to view and control the return status at any time.

MCS is a system that controls the transport equipment for unmanned automation of the entire semiconductor process. Transport equipment includes a Stocker, Overhead Hoist Transport (OHT), Over Head Shuttle (OHS), and Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV). The solution supports adherence to the International Semiconductor Equipment Materials Association (SEMI) standard. In addition, automatic scheduling of carriers to be carried in accordance with their own algorithms, and the user's own returning rule can be set. The web-based integrated control user interface allows monitoring and control of the return status at any time.

THiRA-UTECH MCS also meets the requirements of SEMATECH, a US private sector semiconductor research consortium. AMHS (Automated Material Handling System) can be controlled according to the specifications of semiconductor logistics equipment such as SEMI E82 (IB SEM) and SEMI E88 (Stocker SEM). This is why THiRA-UTECH is aiming to enter the US market. The company has already accumulated knowledge while supplying smart factory solutions to numerous large corporations and mid-sized companies in Korea.

Semiconductor fabs have already been an unmanned process for a considerable amount of time due to the influence of micro-process and are standardized mainly on automatic warehouses and OHT or OST. In addition to semiconductor fabs, post-process automation such as packages and test processes has become more active. Semiconductor post-processing is trying out various logistics equipment not specified by SEMI, and AGV which was previously reluctant to use due to speed problem is also being actively introduced.

THiRA-UTECH provides a variety of integrated solutions in production planning (APS), production management (MES), factory automation (FA), and the Internet (IoT)), which can increase productivity with efficient resource management in manufacturing. MCS is also used as an unmanned automation system for the manufacture of semiconductors, displays, rechargeable batteries, solar cells, and electrical components. In recent years, the company has expanded its business with unmanned automation equipment such as logistics robots (AGV) by integrating software technology with sensors and robots. That is why the company prides itself in being the only company in Korea to provide smart factory one-stop services from software to hardware.
