Seoul Semiconductor supplies LED for Audi A4

Seoul Semiconductor has supplied its LED for headlamps on 2020 Audi A4, the South Korean company said.

This marks its first supply to the German automobile giant.

Seoul Semiconductor supplies its Wicop Bi-color 2 in 1 LED. 

Wicop technology allows LED to be mounted on the substrate without extra components. Seoul Semiconductor says this boosts heat conductivity and smaller lens design.

Wicop Bi-color can express both white and yellow light.

Audi said the LED allowed it for thinner headlamp design.

Seoul Semiconductor said Wicop was in demand from a European lamp company. It has around 20 global projects at this time, the company said.
