LG Display CEO Jeong Ho-young said Wednesday that the company will build a tight ecosystem around organic light emitting diode (OLED) display panels with its partners.

The South Korean display maker invited 20 of its OLED materials and components suppliers, including Merck and DuPont, to its 2020 Tech Forum event, where he made the statement.

Jeong said the company plans to expand supply of OLED panels to market as well as create new markets in which the technology can be applied going forward.

LG Display will continue its strategic collaboration with its partners to build an organic and tight OLED ecosystem, the CEO said.

The acceleration of digital transformation has intensified competition in the display industry to develop rollable, transparent and other form factors, Jeong said, making collaboration with partners even more important.

LG Display discussed future collaboration with its partners at the forum, the company said in a statement.
