"This year, Semicon Korea has the largest number of speakers, exhibitors, booths and visitors in its history. We will anticipate the dynamic changes of the semiconductor industry and present a new trend through this event," said Hyun-Dae Cho, CEO of SEMI Korea, at the press conference of Semicon Korea 2019 held at COEX, Seoul on the 23rd.

Semicon Korea 2019 will involve 2037 booths, which will overtake last year's record. The number of exhibitors has also increased by 7% YoY to 469, and 50,000 visitors are expected. The number of speakers reached 120. It is the largest in all respects. In line with recent trends, Semicon Korea has added artificial intelligence (AI) and microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) and sensor conferences. Through the Workforce Development, talented people can look for positions to work in the semiconductor industry.

Representative Cho said, "We have prepared a program to improve the quality of university students and to provide the students with basic information on various types of semiconductors. We feel the interest in the semiconductor industry is high as more than 1,000 registered students at the expert invitation events."

"We have prepared a variety of other events such as technical symposiums, purchasing conferences, market seminars, and smart manufacturing forums," he said. "We will introduce new trends in the semiconductor industry such as block chains, quantum computing, data centers, AI and 5G, in order to help the industry to cope with the new trends,” he emphasized.
