SFA will expand globally as a smart factory solution company based on its experiences in making kits for semiconductor, display and battery productions, the company said.

The company unveiled its smart factory brand called NEO on Monday.

SFA said it will be original, complete and comprehensive in its offerings in its smart factory business.

The South Korean equipment maker said it will offer solutions that are intelligent, connected, automated and non-stop.

SFA has been traditionally focused on the display industry but it will expand its presence in batteries and semiconductors as well as distribution industry, the company said.

It will able to service customers with turn-key solutions thanks to its diverse portfolio.

NEO brand is sub-divided to solutions and applications.

Solutions include imaging, route, cube, edge, sense and preventive maintenance. Applications are inspect, transportation, measure, place, pick and precision.

The first focus will be in the battery industry. It developed an inspection kit with artificial intelligence, machine vision, CT and X-ray technology that find defects in batteries quickly. It has applied smart technology on its formation and distribution equipment.

SFA posted 69.7 billion won in sales in the first half of 2020 and has 142.7 billion won in remaining orders. South Korean analysts expect the company to secure 200 billion in sales from its battery business alone thanks to high demand.
