Dreamtech to produce electronic nose in 2021

Dreamtech will begin producing its electronics nose solution that can detect whether someone has contracted COVID-19 in 30 seconds next year.

The company said on Friday that it has wrapped up trials.

The electronic nose was co-developed with Israeli firm Nanoscent, It can check whether a patient has contracted COVID-19 by analyzing their breath. It detects volatile organic compound in their breath for that.

It can also asymptomatic patients. Dreamtech is aiming to produce the solutions in South Korea within the first half of 2021. It is also preparing for approvals of authorities in multiple countries.

The company said its trial showed that ordinary people, which could be staff at companies, could perform the test using the electronic nose only after an hour’s training. 

Dreamtech said results from electronic nose was same as test results from PCR.

The company, together with Nanoscent, tested the solution in four English football teams, including Tottenham Hotspur.
