Samsung unveils new robot cleaner with LiDAR sensor at CES 2021

Samsung Electronics on Tuesday unveiled a new robot cleaner with artificial intelligence (AI) features at CES 2021.

Jetbot AI can analyze nearby objects to find the best cleaning course, Samsung said.

The cleaner has AI solution, LiDAR sensor and 3D sensor installed. These allows for its to recognize even small objects. It can also scan vulnerable objects, cables, socks and feces of pets.

Samsung also unveiled SmartThings Pet service for care of pets. This can be used to monitor pets remotely, turn on music, AC and air purifiers.

Jetbot AI and SmartThings Pet will launch in the US and South Korea in the first half of 2021.

Samsung also unveiled robots in development. A robot called Handy has a robot arm that can pick up objects. It can set tables and clean up afterwards.

A 2021 version of robot Care, first unveiled in CES 2019, was also shown at CES 2021. The robot cares for senior citizen and can mange schedules of family members. It also offers healthcare, education and remote meeting service for people.

The company also showed off a serving robot that serves food restaurants; it also showed off a guiding robot; and GEMS, a wearable robot that assists movement.

Samsung also unveiled a four-door Bespoke refrigerator. Customers can customize the colors.

The South Korean tech giant also showed off new LifeStyle TV models; The Frame, The Premiere, The Serif, The Sero and The Terrace.

Samsung also unveiled its 110-inch MicroLED TV at the event. The TV will launch in March in South Korea and later globally.

The company also unveiled SmartThings Cooking and Samsung Health services. SmartThings Cooking offers recipe and diet optimized for the user. Consumers can order food via screens on Family Hub refrigerators and mobile devices. Data for recipe can be sent to the oven. SmartThings Cooking will launch in South Korea and the US in the first quarter.

Samsung Health offers high resolution home training programs. A USB camera connected to the TV can monitor your exercise.

The company also introduced its upscaling technology that can up resolution of videos to 4K and 8K. A new AI optimizes sound. AI washing machines and dryers analyze consumer behavior to offer the most optimized washing courses.

Samsung will also launch remote controls that uses renewable energy such as solar power and in-door lighting for some of its Neo QLED and QLED TVs.
