Hanmi hits record earnings in 2020

Operating income jumps 361.1%

Hanmi Semiconductor posted 255.7 billion won in sales and operating income of 66.4 billion won in 2020, the company said on Friday.

This is a rise of 114.6% and 361.1%, respectively from 2019.

In the fourth quarter, the company posted sales of 77.5 billion won and operating income of 14.18 billion won, a rise of 91.9% and 109.9%, respectively, from a year prior.

Hanmi said TSMC was crucial in its earnings jump. The firm won may orders from various outsources semiconductor assembly and test companies such as ASE, SPIL and JCET from TSMC’s boost/

Hanmi said it was spending 10 billion won in incentives for employees. Each employee on average will be payed 19 million won.

The company said it saw high demand from vision placement and EMI shield equipment from rising semiconductor use in 5G, self-driving cars, smartphones, data centers and bitcoins. It expects further growth this year.
