Samsung Display to produce 90Hz notebook OLED in March 

Samsung Display said on Thursday that it will begin manufacturing 90Hz notebook organic light emitting diode (OLED) panels in March.

There will be three 90Hz OLED products. March is when new notebooks are expected to begin sales from various global customers.

Previous notebook OLED supported up to 60Hz in refresh rate.

Samsung Display said OLED has ten times the response time of liquid crystal display (LCD) panels. The 90Hz OLED will have level performance with 120Hz LCD panels, the company said.

In the company’s own testing, 90Hz OLED showed less screen drag compared to 120Hz LCD. 

OLED is the best display to meet various consumer demand in notebooks from remote work, online education, video streaming to gaming, the company said.
