The CEOs of Samsung Electronics and six other affiliates of the company meet with Samsung’s compliance committee to discuss collaboration on Tuesday.

Samsung Electronics vice chairman and co-CEO Kim Ki-nam said the company will strive to follow the law to become a respected conglomerate, following the meeting.

Each company CEOs reported to the committee how they were progressing with following the law.

Such committee meetings will likely continue going forward. Earlier this month, the Seoul High Court, in sentencing Samsung Electronics vice chairman Lee Jae-yong to two and a half years in prison, said it was difficult to accept that the committee will be effective and lasting in preventing company form being involved in illegal behaviors.

But Lee last week sent out a letter from prison through his lawyers that he plans to continue in his support for the committee and its activities.

On Tuesday, the vice chairman also sent a message to Samsung Employees, encouraging them to make a new Samsung with him.
