KT begins trial for 5G SA network

KT on Wednesday said it has started its trail service for 5G standalone (SA) network.

The network will available for its own employees at KT buildings and some metropolitan areas, the carrier said.

It is the last quality testing before a commercial rollout, the carrier said.

KT said 5G SA will offer lower latency and less batter power consumption compared to 5G non-standalone (NSA) as data and signals are transferred only through the 5G network.
