LG launches 2021-model OLED TVs

6 series with 18 models

LG Electronics said on Monday that it will begin global launches of its 2021-model OLED TVs.

The TVs will come in six series with 18 models in total. Eleven models launching in South Korea will be over 70-inch in size.

The six series are G, C, B, A, R and Z series.

G series is what LG calls OLED Gallery TV models that comes with its latest OLED panels, called OLED evo, which has improved luminance and clearer pictures. They will come in 55, 65 and 75-inch sizes with the model name G1.

The C series, which was awarded the best TV at CES 2021, will come in 4K(3840x2160) resolution. The 65 and 55-inch models will launch first, followed by 48, 77 and 83-inch models. The 48-inch model is aimed at gamers and the new 83-inch model is for home cinema. The model name is C1.

The B series will come in 77, 65 and 55-inch sizes with the model name B1. The A series will come with same sizes with the addition of a 48-inch model. Their model name is A1.

Z series are the 8K models and R series refers to LG’s rollable OLED TV, called Signature OLED R.

The premium G, C, R, and Z series will comes with LG’s Alpha 9 Gen 4 AI processors. They will also come with upscaling and dynamic tone mapping technologies.

For the 65-inch model, the G series will cost 4.6 million won, the C series 4.1 million won and B series 3.8 million won. 

LG said it will launch its MiniLED TV, called LG QNED MiniLED, and LG Nanocell TVs later as well.
