Hana Technology said on Tuesday that it has won an orders for battery equipment worth 48.6 billion won.

It will be supplying 43 billion won worth of assembly equipment and 5.6 billion won worth of back-end equipment.

The combined worth of the deals is equal to 55% of its total sales in 2020, which was 88 billion won.

Hana didn’t name its customers for the fresh orders. The assembly equipment turn-key contract will expire on February 1, 2022. The back-end equipment deal __ which is for formation and inspection kits, will expire on March 1, 2022.

The company announced on the same day that it recorded 88 billion won in sales and 3.3 billion won in operating loss for the entire year of 2020.

Sales increased by 48.5% compared to 2019. Hana said it posted an annual loss from increased operating cost to accommodate rising orders from abroad.

A company spokesperson said it expected South Korea’s battery equipment market to recover this year, while cost increase for orders abroad due to the pandemic is expected to improve as well. These will improve its profitability in 2021, they said.
