Nanobrick said on Thursday that it will launch materials with adaptive transmittance and color used in display panels.

The company will develop these materials using its own active nano platform, which it uses to make functional materials.

Nanobrick has launched a variety of materials using the platform that has been applied to cosmetics, bio, authentication and security inks.

Controlling where nano particles with high durability and light blockage are placed in display panels that can overcome previous limitations, a company spokesperson said.

Previous use of polymer dispersed liquid crystal and electrochromic materials had weak durability and were inefficient in blocking light, they said.

Nanobrick was aiming to expand in display materials used for building interiors and automobiles, the spokesperson said. It will supply packing materials for these displays that can be alternated depending on consumer taste.

These will also allow colors to changed simpler compared to the current color filter and circuit technologies use in liquid crystal displays and OLEDs., they added.

Nanobrick listed on KOSDAQ using the eased IPO rule for technology companies. Last year, the company recorded 8.6 billion won in sales and 67 million won in operating income.

Nanobrick CEO James Joo said the company had built a large production capacity for nano particles. The company is testing samples of them with various global leading companies, Joo said, and will expand sales through the launch of materials with adaptive transmittance and color used in display panels.
