Galaxy S21 exceeds a million unit sales in Korea
Milestone reached a month earlier than S20
Samsung Electronics said on Monday that it reached a million unit sales in South Korea for its Galaxy S21 smartphones series.
The milestone was reached 57 days after official sales in the country begin. The series also reached a million unit sales a month earlier than it predecessor, Galaxy S20 series, Samsung said.
Galaxy S21 accounted for 52% of sales, while Galaxy S21 Plus accounted for 21% and Galaxy S21 Ultra 27%.
Meanwhile, Galaxy S10 series reached a million unit sales in the country 47 days after official sales started.
Sources in Samsung’s component supply chain told TheElec that the company is expecting 30 million in unit sales for the Galaxy S21 series globally.
This will be more than the Galaxy S20 series, which sold late-20 million units last year.
Samsung is offering 100,000 won coupon to customers to buy wearables. Customers can also instead get one year of Samsung Care Plus.
The Korean company said it will also extended its Galaxy To Go program, where customers can rent the Galaxy S21 series for three days, to April 30.
