Analog Devices said on Tuesday launched reference design for a 16-channel mixed-signal front-end (MxFE) digitizer.

The digitizers are for aerospace and defense applications such as phased array radars and ground-based satellite communications.

They include four AD9081 or four AD9082 software-defined direct RF sampling transceivers.

Analog Devices will provide reference RF signal chains, software architectures, power supply designs, and application example code, which will accelerate customer development, the company said.

It will also provide a digitizing card to help system-level calibration algorithms and power-up phase determinism. The card will provide both individual adjacent channel loopback and combined channel loopback options and combined Tx and Rx channels output via SMA connectors.

The company is already supplying ADQUADMXFE1EBZ, the digitizer, and ADQUADMXFE-CAL, the digitizing card.

ADQUADMXFE2EBZ and ADQUADMXFE3EBZ will launch in June.
