Membrane system firm SepraTek has chosen to head a South Korean national project to develop dissolved oxygen (DO) membrane degasifier (MDG), the company announced.

A SepraTek spokesperson said the company has its own membrane contactor technology that is more efficient had removing dissolved gas compared to conventional degassing methods.

The firm plans to expand into semiconductors and bio industries where demand for high-purity industrial water is high, they said.

Semiconductor production processes require purified waters that have dissolved gasses removed from them.

The project will get 1.4 billion won in funding from the government. It is expected to take 45 months to complete from this month.
