Fab equipment firm Jusung Engineering will spend 36.3 billion won to build a new production facility in Gwangju, where the company is based, it said on Thursday.

The company will build a new four story facility with the fund. It will demolish its hold building to build the new enlarged facility. The spending will last from April 28 to July 31, 2022.

A Jusung Engineering spokesperson said the company’s outlook for its sales was positive until 2023.

The new building will combine previously disparate production facilities into one to increase efficiency, they added.

In February, Jusung Engineering completed a new research facility. The new facility will house research staff in semiconductor, display and solar cell that were previously separated.

The new production facility will manufacture all equipment for use in all these areas, from chips to solar cells.

Jusung Engineering recently clinched a large order for its atomic layer deposition (ALD) equipment for DRAM production from SK Hynix.

It previously supplied them to the Korean memory maker with rival Wonik IPS. But Wonik IPS recently failed to clinch the new order.

SK Hynix is planning to secure around 30 units of ALD for high-k deposition.

DB Securities is forecasting that Jusung Engineering record 334.9 billion won in sales this year, an increase of 183% from 2020. It expected operating income of 73.3 billion won for the whole year.
