SK Innovation to build battery data analysis system
With rental car unit
SK Innovation said on Friday that it will collaborate with affiliate SK Rent-a-Car to develop a battery usage data analysis system.
The system will be used predict battery life and potential overheating in battery for electric cars.
The system will be trialed in electric cars that are rented out by SK Rent-a-Car. It will analyze the battery in the cars 24/7.
The pair will use the collected data to develop an automated optimization system that manages the battery so that it is always performing optimally.
This system will later be provided to various companies in rental cars, deliveries, taxis and other service providers that use commercial vehicles. This additional will expand SK Innovation’s batter-as-a-service portfolio further, the company said.
