STI to supply 40 billion won worth of chemical system to Micron
For the chip giant’s fab in Singapore
Chip and display equipment maker STI said on Thursday that it will be supplying its central chemical supply system (CCSS) to chip giant Micron.
The deal is worth S$47.9 million, or around 40 billion won. The CCSS will be used in Micron’s PH2 of Singapore Fab 1.
A STI spokesperson said the worldwide chip shortage was increasing spending of semiconductor companies.
The company expected additional orders for CCSS and other products from the shortage, they said.
STI was also winning new orders for photo track systems and fluxless vacuum reflow equipment from the display and chip industries, the company said. Its major products are, however, CCSS and wet systems.
Besides Micron, the company’s customers include Samsung Electronics, SK Hynix and Samsung Display.
