OLED emitting material market to grow 17% in 2021

The global OLED emitting material market will grow 17% in 2021 compared to last year to be worth US$1.52 billion, according to market research firm UBI Research.

South Korean panel companies will buy 74.3% of the total material, while their Chinese counterparts will account for 25.7%, the research firm estimated.

By company, Samsung Display will be the biggest buyer at 45.9%, UBI Research said. This will be followed by LG Display’s 28.5% and BOE’s 13.7%.

By deposition method, RGB(red, green and blue) OLED materials for small OLED will account for 81.4%. OLED materials used for white OLED will account for 18.3%.

UBI Research added that OLED materials for quantum dot (QD)-OLED materials will account for less than 1% of the total.
