Samsung Display’s notebook OLED panel gets gaming performance certificate

Samsung Display said on Thursday that its OLED panels used in the Galaxy Book Pro series of notebooks received the Gaming Performance certification from SGS.

SGS’s review showed that the panel had below 1.4mm in blur length and 15.4ms in multimedia response time.

Samsung said this was superior to liquid crystal display (LCD) notebook panels of the same specification, which usually has blur length of below 2.1mm and response time of 26.4ms.

The company said its OLED panels high dynamic range has a contrast ratio of a million to one.

They also have 120% color representation in DCI-P3 color volume. Their blacks are 0.0005nit in luminance, which allowed them to also receive the Cinematic Experience certfication from SGS.
