Dong A Eltek records loss in Q1

Display inspection equipment maker Dong A Eltek recorded 2.3 billion won in operating loss in the first quarter.

It recorded sales of 53.9 billion won, a jump of 145% from a year prior, however.

The company said major sales came from inspection equipment for mobile and TV OLED panels.

Dong A Eltek was seeing customers ship more OLED panels. Customers’ delayed spending plan has now returned on track which helped the sales increase.

The operating loss from increased traveling expenses and a temporary increase in costs, the firm said.

Dong A Eltek said it expected to return to profitability in the second quarter from improved conditions of the OLED market.
