SK Innovation and Ford will form a battery joint venture, according to Reuters on Wednesday.
The US car maker is a major customer of batteries for the South Korean energy firm.
Batteries made at SK Innovation’s factory in Georgia, which is under construction, will be used in F-150 and other electric car models launched by Ford.
SK Innovation is planning to build two factories in Georgia __ one with a capacity of 9.8GWh per year and another with 11.7GWh per year.
The joint venture will likely build a factory similar in capacity.
LG Energy Solution is also expected to announce its spending plan in the US soon.
