Coasia to sell acoustic unit to focus on system chips

Company to secure 31.8 billion won

System semiconductor design company Coasia said on Friday that it will sell its majority stake acoustic component subsidiary BSE.

The company will sell its 68.75% stake to an unknown party for 31.8 billion won.

Earlier in December, it had sold 31.25% stake for 14 billion won.

Coasia said it was selling its stake in BSE to focus on its system semiconductor business.

The company said it expected growth from its other business units Coasia Nexcell and Coasia Semi.

Coasia Nexcell is taking part in the development of Samsung’s Exynos Auto and other core chips from global vehicle companies, Coasia said.

Coasia Semi was collaborating with Samsung Foundry, it added.

Coasia itself will focusing on developing competence in optical lens of its camera module business, the company said.

Its LED unit was also supplying its smart LED technology to automobile companies, Coasia added.
