Hanmi launches chip packaging saw equipment

Hanmi Semiconductor on Wednesday said it has succeeded in the development of dual-chuck saw used in semiconductor packaging.

The saw is called Micro Saw by the company and will be offered with 18-months free warranty, Hanmi said.

Japanese companies dominate the semiconductor packaging saw sector with over 80% market share.

Hanmi said South Korea chip firms that uses its saw instead of importing them from Japan will save significant cost in procuring the equipment.
