LG Electronics unveils V2X safety app

LG Electronics said on Thursday that it was developing an app that alerts smartphone users of traffic dangers.

Called Soft V2X (vehicle-to-everything), the app alerts the user of collision risks from nearby vehicles.

The app sends the location, direction and speed data of the user to the cloud. The cloud re-sends nearby traffic data to the user.

It will also have different alert messages pop up on the phone, depending on the risk

Soft V2X will help assist with safety for users from dangers that can pop up from blind sports, the South Korean company said.
