Solus to supply LG Display with HTL for OLED panels
Its 1st supply deal with LG Display
Solus Advanced Materials said on Monday that it will be supplying hole transport layer (HTL) to LG Display for use in OLED panels.
OLED panels are comprised of layers for electric current movements and layers that emit light.
HTL is one of the layers that electricity flows through and determines the luminance efficiency and life span of the panel.
Solus said LG Display has given the final approval for its HTL, which will begin production this month. It is its first supply deal to LG Display. The layer will be used in large OLED panels for TVs.
Solus already supplies its materials to Samsung Display and Chinese panel makers.
The Korean materials maker said starting in the second half, it will expand its sales from supply of encapsulant and quantum dot ink.
