Tesna to spend 81.9 billion won to expand CIS testing facility 

Company expects more orders for CIS testing from Samsung

Tesna said on Wednesday that it plans to spend 81.9 billion won to buy additional; equipment to put in its testing facility for CMOS image sensors (CIS) and RF chips.

The company is doing so to prepare for more orders to come from customer Samsung.

It will buy CIS and RF chip testing equipment that will be placed its factory at Ansung by March of next year.

Tesna plans to buy the testing kits from Teradyne and Advantest. It will buy the tester handler from Semes.

The company said it expects order for CIS testing to especially increase.

Tesna had spent 220 billion from 2019 to expand its CIS testing capacity.

Its customer Samsung has been increasing its supply of CIS to Chinese phone makers such as Oppo, Vivo and Xiaomi in recent years.

Last month, the company launched a new image sensor for automobiles.
