US exports $3.8 billion worth of fab equipment in July
Increase of 4.5% from the previous month
US fab equipment makers exported US$3.86 billion worth of their kits in July, according to SEMI.
This is 4.5% higher than June __ while it is an increase of 49.8% year-on-year.
Fab equipment export from the US at a rise in recent months.
In January, export exceeded US$3 billion for the first time in January.
It has been increasing every month since then.
SEMI said it expected export to continue to increase in early period of the second half of the year.
Four US fab equipment maker are included in the world’s top ten fab equipment firms __ Applied Materials, Lam Research, KLA and Teradyne.
These companies recorded double digit growth in their latest quarters.
Foundry giants Samsung and TSMC are increasing their spending to expand their chip production capacities.
