Techwing begins new line operation for latest equipment
Including burn-in testers
Techwing has begun the operation of its new lines at its factory at Asan during the second quarter, TheElec has learned.
The fab equipment maker spent 18 billion won for the expansion.
The additional lines will manufacture the company’s new equipment, including burn-in testers, which are used to stress test chips.
Techwing has previous focused on memory test handlers, which are used to sort chip packages that have finished deposition and etching processes and transported for testing processes.
The South Korean equipment maker is a dominant supplier of memory test handler globally.
It also begin manufacturing test handler for non-memory chips in 2014. The business grew thanks to high spending by outsourced assembly and testing firms.
The business beat its memory test handler in sales during the second quarter.
Techwing is expanding into test handlers for solid-state drives and SoCs in recent years.
