Semiconductor sales reach record high in July

Global sales from semiconductors reached its monthly record in July, according to the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) of the US.
Sales reached US$45.4 billion during the month, the organization said.
It is an increase of 29% year-on-year and an increase of 2.1% from the previous month.
Global sales from semiconductors have increased every month since February.
Sales hit US$39.6 billion that month; in March it reached US$41 billion; in April US$41.8 billion; and in May US$43.6 billion.
According to SIA, the highest growth came from Europe. Sales in the region reached US$3.84 billion in July, a 38% increase from a year ago.
Sales from APAC increased 30.9% over the same time period.
China saw a 28.9% year-on-year increase, the US 26.8% and Japan 20.9%.
China accounted for the largest portion of the monthly sales with US$15.85 billion.
This was followed by APAC’s US$12.37 billion, the US’ US$9.79 billion and Europe ‘s US$3.84 billion. Japan’s reached US$3.68 billion.
SIA said demand was solid across all regions.
