Fab equipment maker Nextin is seeing its supply of its Aegis brand of inspection equipment increase to customers this year, TheElec has learned.

The company had signed multiple contracts with customers this year, totaling four and combined being worth 17.4 billion won.

In the third quarter alone, it had supplied its Aegis-DP and Aegis-II equipment to customers Samsung, SK Hynix and YMTC.

The optical inspection equipment is used to check for defects on chips. Aegis supports both dark field and bright field inspection methods, where ultraviolet and deep ultraviolet light source is used, respectively.

Nextin had last year supplied Aegis-DP to YMTC and JHICC.

This year, SK Hynix will be using Aegis-II, the newer equipment, which increased inspection sensitivity by around 30% from Aegis-DP.

As of the first half of the year, Nextin recorded 28.4 billion won in revenue and had 14 billion won worth of remaining orders.
