Partron supplying automotive cameras on Hyundai Motor’s GV60

Firm to also supply cameras for GV90

Partron was supplying the camera modules for the around view monitor on the digital side mirror of Hyundai Motor’s GV60 which launched earlier this month.

A Partron spokesperson said the company also plans to collaborate with Hyundai Mobis, the component arm of Hyundai Motor, to supply the infrared cameras for the driver monitoring system (DMS) of Genesis GV90 at a later date.

DMS is expected to be required in cars by authorities in Europe, China, the US and other major countries.

Euro NCAP is putting DMS on its evaluation standard for cars and US’ NTSB is suggesting that DMS be on Level 2 autonomous vehicles and above.

Partron said it was also collaborating with LG Electronics its presence in the automotive camera market.

It was aiming to also win US car giant Ford as its customer, it added.

LG Electronics is also strengthening its car module business. It recently supplied the cameras for Mercedes-Benz C-Class’ advanced driver assistance system.

Together with Partron, LG Electronics is pushing their co-brand of CMS called Conniro and winning customers in South Korea, Asia and Europe.

Partron is aiming to reduces its reliance on smartphone camera modules by expanding into the automotive market.
