Samsung to launch 52 models of smartphones in 2022

Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4 to start production in Q3 Firm to launch 16 new models of low-end phones

Samsung will launch 52 new models of smartphones next year, with production of Galaxy Z Fold 4, Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Galaxy S22 Fan Edition (FE) to start during the third quarter, TheElec has learned.

According to Samsung’s smartphone shipment plan for 2022 seen by TheElec, the company is aiming to ship a total of 67 million units of flagship smartphones.

For Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22 Plus and Galaxy S22 Ultra, it plans to manufacture 14 million units, 8 million units and 11 million units, respectively, next year.

It also plans to manufacture 5.7 million units of Galaxy S22, which will start production during the third quarter along with new foldable phones.

Samsung is planning to manufacture 2.9 million units of Galaxy Z Fold 4 and 6.9 million units of Galaxy Z Flip 4.

The company is planning to ship 4 million units of the Fold series and 9 million units of the Flip series in 2022 __ which includes Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 already launched this year.

These flagship models account heavily in revenue but out of Samsung’s total annual shipment target of 334 million units in 2022, 267 million units will be mid- to low-end phones.

In terms of units, Samsung is planning to manufacture the most numbers of Galaxy A53, A13 and A33 smartphones.

These three models account for 23% of the company’s 2022 shipment target.

Production for Galaxy A53 and A33 will start during the first quarter next year, while production for A13 will start during the second quarter.

Samsung will manufacture 28 million units of Galaxy A53. It will manufacture 27 million units and 23 million units of A13 and A33, respectively.

These models will sold mostly in emerging markets such as India.

For the higher-tier Galaxy A series, Samsung will start production of A73 5G during the second quarter of next year and is aiming to manufacture 3.4 million units. For the Galaxy A53 5G, which starts production during the first quarter, the company plans to produce 28 million units.

Low-end phones Galaxy M53 5G, M33 5G and M13(F13) will also into production during the second quarter.
